Award Recipients
2006
The Licking
County Board of Health presented the 2006 Public Health Guardian Award to Vera
Bagent in recognition of her contributions as a valued volunteer and her
commitment to the completion of the vital records data entry project. Vera
donated over a thousand hours of her time to enter information from paper copies
of birth and death certificates into a computer database. This reduced the time
it takes to find a record and allows computer searches for public health
statistics and information.2005
The Licking County Board of Health presented the 2005 Public Health Guardian Award to the Granville Village Council, the Newark City Council, and the Health City Council, at the January 30, 2006 combined Mayors meeting in Granville. The councils were honored for their efforts to protect the public’s health from the hazards of environmental tobacco smoke, by enacting smoke-free workplaces and public places regulations in their communities.
