About Women and Children's Health Programs

Women and Children's Health programs seek to assess the health needs of mothers, children, and their families; to use that information to  development of policies concerning organizational and operational issues of health systems; and to advocate for programs and funding streams which have the potential to improve their health. In addition, the programs provide service coordination for hard-to-reach and high-risk populations, and community health promotion.

Programs for women and children are an important part of LCHD's mission and can be found in our Child and Family Health Services Division, Nursing Division, and WIC Division.
