Licking County Health Department Schedules Flu Clinics

LICKING COUNTY, OHIO - As the days get shorter and cooler, it reminds us that flu season is just around the corner.  The Centers for Disease Control recommends everyone over the age of 6 months should receive a flu vaccine this year.    

The cost of flu vaccine offered by the Health Department will be $20.00 for individuals paying at the time of service.  However, if you have Anthem, Medicare or Medicaid as your health insurance provider, the Health Department will bill these companies for the cost of the immunization.

The Health Department will offer the following adult flu clinics in September:

• Thursday, September 15, Zerger Hall, 745 East Main Street Newark from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. 
• Friday, September 16, Licking County Health Department, 675 Price Road Newark, from 10:00 am to 11:30 AM.
• Wednesday, September 21, Croton Church of Christ, 40 South Main Street Croton, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.                                                                          
• Wednesday, September 21, West Licking Fire Department Station 1, 851 East Broad Street Pataskala 9:30 AM to10:30 AM.
• Friday, September 23, Licking County Health Department, 675 Price Road Newark, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
• Friday, September 23, Granville Public Library, 217 East Broadway Street Granville, from 11:30 AM to12:30 PM.

Children can receive their flu shots during the Health Department’s regularly scheduled immunization clinics.

For those with an inability to walk or make their way into a building easily, please call the Health Department, and our staff can provide you with your flu shot in your car. Coming at the end of a scheduled clinic usually allows for quicker service.  For those with an inability to leave their home, our department can contact your physician and make arrangements for you to receive your flu shot in your home.
