Help Me Grow - Home Visitation Program

January 4, 2011

The Help Me Grow Home Visitation Program now has openings for new families. This program, offered by the Licking County Health Department, serves typically developing children under the age of three and pregnant women. Home Visitors provide free visits in the home, offering parents developmental screenings for their child, parenting tips, and linkage to community resources.

Visits are scheduled at the convenience of the family and cover areas such as working with a fussy baby, toilet training, and behavior issues. Home Visitors guide parents on ways to stimulate and nurture their child, while at the same time, making parenting more fun. A specific educational curriculum is followed, which helps parents understand their child’s developmental needs, no matter whether they are a newborn or almost age three.

This Home Visitation program is now able to enroll teens and women, who are pregnant for the first time, first-time parents with a baby under the age of six months, and families who have a child under the age of three, in which a parent is on active military duty. Some income guidelines may apply. To enroll in the program simply call (740) 349-6685.
